Wide Awake Tip: a.m. Intention-Setting
& Inspirational Quote: Ghandi

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

“I have so much to accomplish today that I must meditate for two hours instead of one.”

Mahatma Gandhi

What do you do in the morning to prepare for your day? You likely clean your teeth and wash and feed your body.  But what about maintaining your connection with your higher self and inner wisdom?  Do you refresh your connection to Source and to your Calling or life’s purpose?

Don’t be a victim to your day and your duties.  You are so much more than that. Decide right now to make ONE change.  Either set up a morning spiritual refresh activity or strengthen the one you have.

  • Can you do a 10-minute relaxation meditation?
  • Can you restfully contemplate your life purpose goals and vision for the world?
  • Can you connect with the results you seek and visualize them so you can bring them out into the world?
  • Can you sit quietly, ask a question, and listen for guidance or for today’s ideal focus or task?

You may resist this change for the first several days, but I challenge you to do this for 10 solid days in a row and see how it goes.

I don’t know about you, but if Ghandi found a morning refresh and centering worked for him, I’m inclined to think he knows something I haven’t figured out yet, and I’m willing to try it.  He was after all extremely effective at creating positive change.

Remember too that being “on” requires being “off”. Being successful out in the world requires inner success first.  The more centered, grounded, Connected, whole, happy, and spiritually refreshed you are, the better you can do what you were born to do.  And the more permanent positive change (aka healing) you can create in the world.

You can do this!  You were born to do this.

Am I an artist? (Are you?)

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Whew, I’ve been going through a major healing wave in the last few weeks!  The kind where I stop calling my friends for a while b/c I’m processing stuff.  (They are used to this, bless them.)  In mid-January, it was like a floodgate opened on a clogged dry riverbed.  As the water has poured through, huge logs, boulders, branches, and rotten things have lifted away effortlessly, piece by piece.

In the last week it’s been washing away blocks to my creativity.  Yes, I finally saw the pattern that when I start super-creative projects that are really “me”, they all seem to die!  Hmmm.  It’s time for that to stop, and I know that’s why this is clearing itself up.

What Makes an Artist an Artist?

Oddly, since Tuesday I’ve been badly longing to see some paintings I did in 2001 after I took my very first painting class from the local recreation program.  It wasn’t a class as much as an artist walking around the room.  My questions started with, “What do I do?”  I hated the two paintings I attempted in that class.

Daria's painting #3

About the same time, an astrologer told me I was so creative I should leap out of bed in the morning saying, “I am an artist!  I am an artist!  I am an artist!”

Feh.  I was not an artist. I majored in econ with lots of math and computer courses.  I worked in finance.  I was logical, thank you very much.

Then again, since I was little, I’ve longed to paint.  I remember sitting in front of blank paper, desperately wanting to paint, knowing I could, knowing the feeling of painting, but not being able to do it.  Blocked.

So at my request this morning, my weekly healing mastermind focused on unlocking and healing creativity.  We cleared dozens of false beliefs that had been getting in my way.  Do you recognize any of these?  (You also can clear them by adding “I choose to lose the concept that…”)

  • Science is superior to art.
  • Art is a waste of time, artsy-fartsy, something to be made fun of, something to hide.
  • Art is not valuable.  (So you have to buy cheap materials and you certainly can’t make a living out of it.)
  • Nobody can be good at art except the chosen special few like Monet and VanGough, definitely not me.
  • <Insert critical comment here about your art.>
  • It’s too risky to put yourself out there genuinely through your art.

I hope you can see the utter ridiculousness of these few samples!

As we worked, I finally went downstairs and dug out the paintings.  I was shocked to find they were MUCH better than I remembered.  In fact, my fourth painting (an unfinished bowl of pears) triggered an almost meditative state of Presence for me.  I’ll be working with that one this week!

The Secret to Art & Why It Will Always Be In Demand – Always

Am I an artist? Are you?  In 14 years of learning why artists are stuck and sick, I’ve discovered a secret about art.  By observing my healing work with many high-level artists and creatives, I’ve concluded that creativity, intuition, and healing all come from the same place.  It is a place we are each connected to and a part of.

Daria's Painting #4, Unfinished

It’s not the physical, mechanical, logical, emf side of life.  Art connects us to the nonphysical, intuitive, knowing, genuine, connected, One-with-All side of the universe.  Art connects both the artist and the beholder to that Other Side, that part of ourselves we have a hard time sensing, the part with all the deep Peace, Love, Wisdom, Fulfillment and Bliss we could want.  We CRAVE this connection.

Intuition also comes from connecting to that place of Wisdom and Potential, of Knowing.  And so does genuine transformative healing.  When we connect to that part of ourselves and use that part of our consciousness, we can shift to a better way of living and being in a way that changes our lives for the better.  Permanently.  That’s healing.

Yes, perk up, starving artists –  since good art connects us with that infinite, higher side of ourselves, it will ALWAYS be in demand, always.

My Challenge for You

I’m taking a look at my own art and creativity this week, with loving and accepting eyes this time.  I know I’m ready to do this.  I invite or even challenge you to do the same.  Then share your journey and art with us in the comments.  Post your blog or art links.  The more we share our stories of creativity, the more we can help each other and raise the next generation to accept their Inner Artists.  The more we enjoy art ourselves, the more we can heal.

Art, at its core, is a level of mastery: mastery of patterns, mastery of connections, mastery of seeing the same thing in a new way.  So too is healing.

When you master life’s patterns, you can create the GREATEST ART IN THE WORLD: making an art form out of LIVING YOUR LIFE and leaving the world a better place.  You can make an art of living, healing and Awakening.

Are you an artist?  Am I?

Yes, my friend, we sure are.

I see the innate artist in you, and I am blessed by it.  Thank you for that.

Inspirational Quote: Emily Dickinson

Tuesday, January 11th, 2011

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

How to grow a brilliant you in the new year

Sunday, January 9th, 2011

Imagine yourself as a small seed.

Contained in that tiny seed is the complete pattern of the full, complex plant in its greatest fruition. All the fullness of its potential beauty and delight and glory and gifts for the world is already there.  All the information it needs to fulfill its pattern and potential is there.  It lacks nothing in its essence or core pattern.

I also guarantee that a more powerful potential outcome than you can even imagine is in that seed, too.  It’s merely not realized in the physical world… yet.

All you have to do is allow what’s in that seed — the inner wisdom and full innate pattern — to unfold. It already knows how to.  It knows a zillion ways how to.  It has the information.  It has infinite potential.  Your job is simply to assist.

  • To provide the most nurturing environment without suffocating or stunting growth.
  • To exercise and master your ability to help without slowing the process.
  • To build faith and trust in the seed’s potential and to step back and allow it to fulfill its greatest potential.

These are the seven steps of Awakening, which we practice each month here at GIA.  They are so important, we’ve provided a free ebook with more details on how to do those steps!  If you haven’t gotten a copy, sign up for it now at the top of the page.

Start now.  This is the year for your success!

2012 is coming up fast.  But people need you now.  This is the year to learn to step aside, uplevel, and let the seed that is you unfold more quickly into its greatest expression. Here are three steps to get you going:

1. Let go right now and allow the seed to be settled by gravity into its best place.  So often we are so obsessed with finding the “right” place or time that we never begin.

2. Step aside and let the rain soften the soil.  Allow the sun to shine on the growing plant, whatever it looks like in its awkward youth.  All you have is right under your nose… if you can see it.

3. Know that everything is best in the moment.  Trust that everything IS in there already and can emerge.  Trust that you have the power to help the seed within you.  Trust that the inner pattern of the seed knows a million ways to emerge and flower, and it’s hard to get in its way.  And trust that the rain, sun and other resources you need will appear as you need them.  If you find yourself worrying or getting in the way, you can actively work on building this trust.

You are a powerful being, constantly growing and increasingly fulfilling your potential.  May you enjoy many blessings on your exciting journey of growth this year!

If you are ready to make 2011 you year, we are here to make it easier and quicker for you, especially if you are here to help the world awaken.  Check out our amazing benefits HERE, and start your membership right away.

May 2011 the year you finally truly sprout your true purpose to help Awaken the planet! What can you do to start right now?  Take one simple step right now, in the next 10 minutes.

Inspirational Quote: Answers

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

“The answers to your questions, dreams, and prayers are limited first by your not asking them.

The second limitation comes from not seeing or accepting the answers in front of you.

The third from not believing the answers came from within you where your capacity to accomplish them already exists.”

–Daria Boissonnas, Founder, Global Institute for Awakening

Unfortunately, I see these three limitations over and over in my mentoring.  Just came across them yesterday in our astonishing Clear Wisdom calls, which you can listen to free by registering here:  http://giawaken.com/2011/01/final-cw-holiday-call/   In Clear Wisdom, I tune into the higher consciousness of the client to help them find the most effective efficient way to help Awaken the world.  See if you can hear a little bit of pushback on these calls.  (Extra credit:  figure out which of the three issues each person is having.)

As you Awaken to your life’s purpose, your full capabilities (much greater than you can even imagine right now), and the ease with which you can live a blissful life making permanent positive change in the world… then these limitations disappear.

GIAwaken News: Looking forward to a new year with YOU!

Monday, December 27th, 2010

Dear Powerful Being of Compassion,

I hope you enjoyed the long holiday weekend!  We had a great family Christmas, very low key, fun and cosy for all the kids — the ones between 5 and 15, and the two 40-something kids as well.  ;)

For the last month I have been SOOOooo looking forward to the new year.  There’s something magical about a clean calendar, a new accounting year, and a fresh start.  I love taking stock of all I’ve learned, deeply appreciating how far I’ve come and who has helped me get here, and deciding where I am going next.  We have the bubbly fruit juice, champagne, and flutes all lined up for a New Year’s eve celebration.

How about you?  What do you love about the new year?  Do you do resolutions or not and why?  Tell us in the comments below!

Ever Long for All the Answers?

Tomorrow — tomorrow is even better than New Year’s for three brave volunteers.  Did you ever wish someone could just TELL you, step by step, exactly what to do to resolve a problem or reach a goal — once and for all?

I know I have.  I’ve been frustrated and stuck trying something SO many different ways and STILL not knowing why it’s not working or what I’m doing “wrong”.

Luckily, all the answers are within you at all times.  Imagine my joy and honor to do that for my clients:  to help them tap their inner guidance and higher self to discover, step by step, exactly what to do to solve their challenges and reach their goals, once and for all. They learn how to PERMANENTLY  break limiting patterns with very simple exercises!

It’s surprising what comes up.  Last week, one client needed to sing reguarly in front of an audience to better connect with Source and improve her life in all areas.  Another needed to get out of the house twice a day to break a food addiction.  Fascinating!

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 28th, you can hear me do this LIVE for three more brave souls from among our members & fans who boldly stepped up and said “yes please”.  Click here to register.

This type of session is usually done in private, but you have this rare opportunity to listen in to the magic on Tuesday.   Get the audio recordings too when you register for the free call, and you can listen any time.

Last week’s Clear Wisdom holiday gift call was powerful!  Tears were shed and great obstacles to following our volunteers’ spiritual callings were moved and removed!  (Also it was so powerful we got blown off the phone three times, and the conference service has no idea why.  Hopefully things will go more smoothly with a new number!  Click here to register and get it.)

Healing will flow through this session and to all who listen, so if you’d like to break through your own obstacles, please join us!

Call In, Enjoy the Readings, Get Some Healing

Tomorrow/Tuesday the 28th:  3 MORE FREE Clear Wisdom holiday gifts!!!

You’ll want to watch this “Get Service” video

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010

This month’s spiritual practice focus for members is being of service.  Asking that question:  “How can I be of most service?”  It shifts you out of suffering, ends the negative stories in your head, and focuses you on possibility and potential.  Better than that, this spiritual practice allows you to make a BIG meaningful difference wherever you go, with whatever you have, and however you are.

Watch this video, where a man comes to understand the power of this spiritual practice, and then try it a few times today yourself.  Let us know what you think, and how practicing goes!

You can change your life and diet… one tiny step now is all you need

Monday, November 29th, 2010

At 5pm this evening, I walked into a conventional grocery store.

I was desperate.  I wasn’t thinking.

My husband and two of our four kids were home sick today.  I bounced between biz work and healing and caring for them.  Over the long holiday weekend, though, we’d drained the fridge dry.  Except for a gaggle of lonely baked potatoes that seemed to me to be crying out to dance with onions, peppers and sausage.  Mmmmm, comfort food.

The food co-op was 30 mins away, too far at 5pm.  So I casually stopped by the grocery store on the way home from extracting my book-crazed teenager from the library.  She stayed in the car to read of course.

I ended up doing a lot of reading myself.

What was I thinking?!  I’d completely forgotten how hard it is to find no-nitrates, no-nitrites, no-MSG, no-preservative (not to mention organic or grass-fed) sausage!  I desperately scanned the sausage area, which in Wisconsin is brighty loaded with piles of kielbasa, bratwurst, breakfast sausages, and the usual section of hot dogs.

I read the fine print:  MSG, BHA, MSG, nitrates, MSG, nitrites, MSG, propyl gallate, whew!  I read them all.

And found I just could not bring myself to feed these chemicals to my kids.  Though my mouth was watering for foods I ate aplenty 13+ years ago, I couldn’t do it.  I’d rather do something else, thank you.  As I took in the massive sausage section, I marvelled at how so many people in the world trust whatever is wrapped in a happy plastic package.

I remember how I used to do that.

One Tiny Change

13 years ago, when I first started reading about healthy food and why some of what I had been eating was harmful, I was overwhelmed.  Everything I was doing seemed to be wrong!  I had to change everything!

So I changed nothing.  For a long time.

Then one day, just one random any-old-day, I chose a loaf of wheat bread instead of white bread.

I didn’t even like it much at first.  But after eating whole grain bread for over a decade and finding the brand and recipe I like, today white bread tastes weird and even gross to me.  (I only like it in restaurant rolls when travelling, go figure.)

That one day, I stepped sideways out of overwhelm, and I simply took a step.  My first step.  One tiny change.  I followed that one change for a while, still feeling overshadowed by how much I wanted to change.  But listen to this — I followed that one step, that one tiny shift, until it became my norm.  Until I loved wheat bread and looked forward to eating it.

No, my palette hasn’t been ready for all the healthy food I’ve tried.  Some of it was just a “try” and an “oh well”.  But tonight when I stood before the festive, preservative-laced meats this evening, I realized how far I’d come.  I knew I was gonna warm those potatoes with organic veggies in raw fair-trade expeller-pressed nonwinterized coconut oil, with sea salt, and NOT in an aluminum pan.  I stood suspended, keilbasa chilling my right hand, as I appreciated how far our family has come in its eating habits.  And how deeply grateful I am for the Madison farmer’s market and stores like the Williamson Street Food Co-op that offer the alternatives I seek.

You Can Do It!

You too can change your life, change your diet, change your body, change your mindset, change anything you want.  All it takes is one step.  Forget new year’s resolutions.  Forget aggressive huge PLANS.  Forget massive goals!

Just choose ONE thing today to change consistently.  Just ONE thing.

ONE fewer cigarette per day.  Add ONE new vitamin/supplement.  Get to bed at the same time each day.  Get ONE health concern looked at or treated.  Eliminate ONE “bad” food from your home.  Change ONE thing in your environment – and keep it up.

Change that one thing.  Become that one tiny change.  Do this and it will become a seed for other positive change to flow naturally into your life.  All you must do is choose to start.  Decide to make  ONE.  TINY.  POSITIVE.  CHANGE.

And let me know how it goes!

Many blessing on your journey.
xoxo,
Daria

How to Make Biz Trips Even More Enriching

Monday, November 8th, 2010

Have you ever gone to a conference, expo or retreat and come back a different person?  Maybe thinking more expansively, feeling relaxed, with lots of new ideas and excitement about what you are doing in the world?

I just spent a few days in Los Angeles at the Smart Women’s Business Conference & Expo as an exhibitor and am sooo right there, right now!!  The people I connected with are changing the world, and I loved it!  I came back with such clarity about how we can help even more people even more!  My feet are still not quite touching the ground.

When you come home, however, the magic can begin to fade.  Your “real life” intrudes on your brilliant ideas and exuberant feelings.  Maybe the bathroom faucet is still leaking, a relationship is still challenging, you still hate your job, or you have ongoing pain in your life.  And in contrast to the experience you just came from, it hits you in the face, hard.  Bleah.

But challenges like this are opportunities in disguise!  Look beyond the disguise to make business trips even more enriching.  Pay attention when you come back.  Hang on to that expansive mindset and feeling, and allow yourself to notice your “old” life without getting caught up in it.  Remember: what you’re seeing is the life of the person who WENT on the business trip, not the person who came back.  Just notice it.

Take Two Steps to Change Your Life

Now make that trip permanently enriching.  Choose just TWO areas in your life where you can feel a before-and-after contrast.  An area of your home, your life, your job, your relationships, your habits.  Choose two to change.  Just two.  Maybe one personal and one business.  Make the trip and the expense worth it by cementing in your newly expanded attitude into your life.

Take an action now and set up a routine, a new way of being and thinking, that takes care of the problem that seems so obvious to you now.  Call the plumber, take your friend to lunch and have a heart-to-heart, or start or break off that other relationship.  Call a healer or therapist or lawyer, whatever you need to heal that part of your life.

If you’re a member of the Global Institute for Awakening, you can take these two intended changes and apply the powerful techniques we taught in your seminar “How to Find What You’ve Been Missing.”  To join as a member and get this workshop on how to make your dreams reality, click here.

You ARE the more expansive you who came back from that trip.  That IS who you are, and I’m happy you’re feeling it!  Now incorporate that into your life so you can help more people more easily!

Chicken Joke

A:  It wanted to get to the Other Side.

Hello friend!  I’m just back from a wonderful inspirational and business conference in Los Angeles, and am enjoying a day goofing off with my kids.  Enjoy your day too!

Inspirational Quote: Healing is about the Now

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

“Healing, enlightenment, and spiritual evolution are not about an escape to Nirvana.  Healing is about manifesting divinity in the world of matter, right here, right now.”

–Daria Boissonnas, Founder of the Global Institute for Awakening

Inspirational Quote: Power

Friday, October 15th, 2010

You are always more powerful than you think you are.  Always.

— Daria Boissonnas, Founder of the Global Institute for Awakening

Remind yourself of this regularly!  Your thinking mind will never fully understand the power of your higher self or your latent potential.  It will only be able to think of a few of the infinite solutions the universe always has available.  Your thinking mind is not as great or expansive as your full potential self.

Therefore you are always more powerful than you think you are.  Once you understand this, you are able to seek that greater power and help more people live better lives, including yourself.
